Assistive Technology

Hong Kong higher education institutions have improved accessibility for hearing loss students with accommodations like FM/Loop systems, real-time captioning, note-taking, and sign language interpretation. However, there's a need for more scalable, AI-driven solutions to complement existing methods. CUHK is developing assistive technologies specifically for these students, sharing practical experiences, implementation procedures, feedback, and challenges. This case study aims to foster cross-institutional collaboration, inspiring innovative, inclusive teaching and learning practices.
